Kate’s Kart reaches milestone, remains Positively Fort Wayne

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – About two months ago, we shared that Kate’s Kart is getting ready to reach a huge milestone — giving away its half-millionth book. The organization hit that milestone, reiterating Kate’s Kart is Positively Fort Wayne.

“When we started Kate’s Kart, we thought it would last a couple weeks, maybe a couple months,” shared Andy Layman, co-founder of Kate’s Kart.

“Half a million is one of those numbers you can’t fathom. And how do you demonstrate that,” asked Krista Layman, the other co-founder of Kate’s Kart.

Krista and Andy welcomed Kate into the world in 2006. Kate’s short but meaningful life was full of love and reading. Kate’s Kart is demonstrating that milestone in the only way the organization knows how: by giving children receiving medical care a free book.
