New Haven opens newest piece of the Lincoln Highway Trail

NEW HAVEN, Ind. (WANE) — The City of New Haven announced on Monday that its newest segment of the Lincoln Highway Trail is now open for public use.

The trail is named after the historic Lincoln Highway, which was the first highway to span across the US from New York to California, and passes through New Haven and Fort Wayne.

The $1.79 million trail runs parallel to the highway, and this latest addition to the trail is part of the city’s Lincoln Highway Corridor Plan, funded by the city’s economic redevelopment commission.
