FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — After being brought to council in late June to discuss ongoing union contract negotiations and a new fire station, Fire Chief Eric Lahey returned to City Council.
Although the summer has been filled with questions about Lahey levied from the Fire Union, for him, Tuesday Night was an affirmation that the city council has the department’s back.
“It speaks to what we’re doing as an entire administration, from the mayor on down, all through public safety,” Lahey said. “There seems to be overwhelming support from city council to continue moving the department and public safety forward. We’re just encouraged by that.”…
