20-year-old claims she was defending boyfriend in Freimann Square stabbing

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – A woman claims she was defending her boyfriend during a fight with another man that led to a stabbing at Freimann Square and battery charges.

According to the Fort Wayne Police Department, Wednesday’s investigation stemmed from a “large fight” at the park. Officers at the scene found a man with a stab wound in his back. He was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Witnesses told police a woman who’d just left the park was responsible for the stabbing. Police found the woman nearby, identified as 20-year-old Josie Lynett Bodah, and took her into custody.

Bodah is now charged with battery by means of a deadly weapon, a Level 5 felony…
