Central & Northern Indiana Storms: South Bend and Fort Wayne Brace for Heavy Showers and Small Hail by Tonight

Indianapolis, IN – Strong thunderstorms are pushing into Indiana from the west this evening, threatening cities from Evansville to Fort Wayne with heavy downpours, frequent lightning, and winds over 40 mph.

According to the National Weather Service, scattered storms will move across central and northern Indiana through midnight, with the heaviest rainfall and strongest gusts expected along the I-70 and I-69 corridors. Localized flooding is possible in low-lying areas, and a few storms could produce small hail, especially near Bloomington and Lafayette.
