Fort Wayne, Indiana – Sweltering heat returns to northeast Indiana Monday, with the National Weather Service warning of a heat index soaring to 106° by late afternoon. Fort Wayne residents are urged to limit outdoor activity, stay hydrated, and avoid peak heat between 2 and 5 p.m.

According to the National Weather Service in Northern Indiana, a Heat Advisory remains in effect until 9 p.m. EDT Monday for Allen County and surrounding areas. While severe storms aren’t expected, scattered showers and thunderstorms could bring localized downpours in the evening hours, especially along U.S. 30 and I-69 corridors.
