‘Oh-so-close’: Homestead HS construction nears completion as students return

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Homestead High School students return to class, and continued construction on Wednesday.

Crews are nearing completion of the $169 million high school facelift project that Southwest Allen County Schools (SACS) started in 2020, with nearly all of its academic wing finished over the summer. Finishing touches on the Northwest parts of the school, the cafeteria, a main corridor, woodworking space, a staff parking lot, and the Spartan Success Center will continue after students are in the building.

“We believe by the end of the year, the project will be 100% complete. Between now and then, we really just have some auxiliary spaces that are being finished,” says District Superintendent Joshua St. John…
