FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – A community garden has popped up near Blackhawk Middle School, right off State St., offering free breakfast or snacks to people asking by.
Heyde Mitchell, the creator of the garden, says due to changes in the economy, she decided it would be worth it to try and help however she could.
“I started seeing more and more people needing help in the area. Cost of living going up and cost of groceries going up,” says Mitchell. “It was probably last winter that I decided I would put a community garden together and see what it does.”…
