FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Allen County Commissioner Therese Brown announced Wednesday that she won’t week at fifth term in 2026. Brown has been involved with county government in various capacities for decades.
In the news release announcing her decision, Brown said she’s confident that if she ran again, she would win, but she wants to focus on the things that bring her joy; family, friends, and parish. She decided to announce her intentions now to give others a chance to consider running for the second district seat.
“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed learning about every facet of county government over the years,” stated Brown. “I found that to be a successful elected official, I needed to ask a lot of questions and surround myself with the people who will have the answers. I will miss the hundreds of employees who worked alongside me over the years to get tax bills out on time, keep the financial books in order, ensure accuracy and accessibility of court records, and in my most recent role, lead Allen County toward a successful future. Allen County government employees have been like family to me, and even though I won’t be leading them out onto the field, I will always be cheering them on from the sidelines.”…
