Getting a “Taste of Teenworks”

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) – – Multiple Fort Wayne area teens were celebrated on Thursday at Electric Works for their involvement with Teenworks.

Teenworks is based in Indianapolis, but 2025 marked the third year for their Fort Wayne summer program. The nonprofit organization gives local high school students the chance to work for six weeks at a paying job. This summer, one hundred local students worked with eight Northeast Indiana nonprofits.

“Besides working with other nonprofits, instilling the sense of a ‘first jobs’ type of program, and community service, we eliminate the transportation and lunch barriers,” Teenworks Development Officer Jon Miller explains. “We get our kids to and from their jobs, and we feed them every day that they’re with us.”…
