FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — An outage at the largest oil refinery in the Midwest is contributing to the highest gas prices Summit City drivers have seen in a year.
GasBuddy’s Head of Petroleum Analysis, Patrick De Haan, attributes this rise to the Midwest’s largest refinery going offline last weekend. Severe storms and flash flooding resulted in an outage at the refinery and a surge in pump prices across the Great Lakes region.
