HUNTINGTON COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) — The Indiana State Police are investigating a crash that left a driver in critical condition in Huntington County Sunday morning around 6:30 A.M. Police say a white car was traveling south during a police pursuit on Meridan Rd. south of State Road 114 when it left the roadway and hit a pole.
Police said the driver is suspected to have previously fled an attempted traffic stop by and Indiana State Police Trooper. The Indiana State Police Trooper heard a report of a vehicle fleeing a suspected break-in in Columbia City. When the officer saw the suspect vehicle that matched the description he attempted to stop the vehicle resulting in a pursuit as the suspect sped up.
According to the Indiana State Police, the driver of the white car then crashed into a utility pole causing wires to fall across the road. No other vehicles were involved. Only the driver of the car was injured, they were taken to a hospital in critical condition…
