FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) — Allen County is feeling the impact as the Indiana Department of Correction (IDOC) has exhausted its funds allocated for reimbursing county jails that hold low-level felons and state prisoners.
County jails have not received payments for several months, with four months still remaining in the current fiscal year, which runs from July to June. IDOC Spokeswoman Annie Goeller confirmed this situation on Monday to the Indiana Capital Chronicle.
