NEW HAVEN, Ind. (WANE) — What was supposed to be a straightforward sewer replacement project in New Haven’s Tanglewood subdivision has dragged on for months, leaving residents frustrated, streets partially dug up, and some families struggling to get around safely.

The project, funded through federal ARPA dollars, began in late April and targeted old, failing sanitary sewer infrastructure.

While city officials say the work is necessary and should finish by the end of October, residents say progress has been slow, confusing, and sometimes unsafe.

James Wolf, a 30-year resident, says navigating the streets has become a daily guessing game, siting that crews work in waves, leaving streets unfinished for days, while detours and barricades force residents to turn around multiple times just to reach their homes…
