Neighbors notified to shelter-in-place; SWAT and heavy police presence close down neighborhood

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — An active police investigation has closed off an entire neighborhood in northwest Fort Wayne.

Police are investigating a barricaded subject at the 2200 block of Broadmoor Avenue near Lima and Wallen Roads. Dispatch confirmed a shelter-in-place notification was sent to neighbors in the area.

Fort Wayne Police, the Allen County Sheriff’s Department, and the Indiana State Police are present. SWAT vehicles were also seen responding by a WANE 15 crew member. Police can be heard calling with loudspeakers for the subject to exit the home…
