FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – Multiple class action lawsuits have been filed after a data breach at the Fort Wayne Medical Education Program (FWMEP) led to sensitive personal information for thousands of patients being stolen.
FWMEP provides clinical training as part of a residency program for medical students and operates an office inside the Lutheran Downtown Medical Office Building.
A spokesperson for the organization sent a letter on Oct. 3, stating that an “unauthorized actor” stole data from their network sometime between Dec. 12 and Dec. 17, 2024.
