FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — While Shoaff Park offers a wide range of activities ranging from golf to a walking trail, fishing usually is not an available option.
However, dozens of anglers swarm to the recreational area each October to partake in an annual event designed to bring fishing opportunities to urban areas.
On Friday, the Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) visited Shoaff Park, Spy Run Creek at Franke Park and Huntington’s Memorial park to stock rainbow trout and brown trout. The urban fishing program is designed to give people who may not have access to boats or lakes a nearby spot to fish.
