Petrovas Appointed To Whitley County Commissioners Following Banks’ Death

COLUMBIA CITY — Stacey Petrovas was appointed Monday, Oct. 13 to fill the vacancy on the Whitley County Board of Commissioners following the death of Commissioner Chad Banks on Wednesday, Sept. 17.

Petrovas is representing District 1, which includes Etna-Troy, Richland and Cleveland townships. Banks had been serving his second term, and Petrovas will complete that term alongside commissioners Theresa Baysinger and Rob Schuman.

At the same session, Republican precinct committee members selected also filled a vacancy on the Columbia City Common Council. Ryan Adamson was chosen to complete the term representing the city’s southeast district. He succeeds Jennifer Middleton, who plans to step down effective Monday, Dec. 1 as she moves out of the city. Her term runs through the end of 2027.

Whitley County Republican Party Chair Nicki Venable said six individuals sought the open positions, noting the group’s willingness to serve and contribute to the community. She encouraged those not selected to remain active in local government and party activities…
