SACS votes to change enrollment and transfer policies

ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) — Southwest Allen County Schools is now opening more opportunity for resident and non-resident students.

On Tuesday night, the school board voted ‘yes’ to change the policy for transfers and enrollment. This will now allow resident students to transfer within the district, and non-resident students to transfer in.

“We’re happy for our families, because we do believe that choice is popular, that folks want to have options when it comes to educating their children,” Superintendent Josh St. John said. “Through these policy revisions, we’ll be able to deliver on that, providing more families, both resident families and some non-resident families, again under capacities that we set, options that they did not have before.”
