FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — With the help of two women, a man behind bars conspired to coordinate the murder of the confidential informant who assisted police in his arrest, leading to all three being charged.
54-year-old Redena Hire and 20-year-old Alexis Drake were both charged with Conspiracy to Commit Murder, a Level 2 Felony, and Assisting a Criminal, a Level 5 Felony, for their roles in assisting Jason Bridges, who is currently in jail awaiting his trial. Bridges employed the women’s help with the goal of murdering the confidential informant who helped police arrest Bridges for multiple drug-related charges.
Bridges has is currently facing prison time for the following charges:
- 4 counts of Dealing Methamphetamine, 10 grams or more, a Level 2 Felony
- 4 counts of Dealing Cocaine, 10 grams or more, a Level 2 Felony
- 3 counts of Dealing Fentanyl, 5 grams or more, a Level 2 Felony
- Dealing a Schedule I controlled substance, possession with intent to distribute with at least 28 grams, a Level 2 Felony
- Dealing Marijuana, between 30 grams and 10 pounds, a Level 6 Felony
- A habitual offender sentence enhancement, if found guilty
- Conspiracy to Commit Murder, a Level 2 Felony
Hire also faces drug charges of her own, including Dealing a Controlled Substance, a Level 2 Felony, Possession of Cocaine, a Level 5 Felony, as well as Possession of Marijuana, a Class B Misdemeanor. According to court documents, her home was searched by the Fort Wayne Police Department’s Vice and Narcotics Division on September 8.
There, officers found 0.3 grams of cocaine, 389.7 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, a digital scale with traces of methamphetamine, 5 handguns, and 3 long guns in the basement. In the kitchen, officers discovered a glass mason jar on top of the refrigerator that held a green, plant-like material that tested positive for marijuana. After measuring, the jar contained around 27 grams…
