Van Eerden opens $51M Indiana hub in first move outside Michigan

Van Eerden Foodservice Co. has moved out of state for the first time in its 105-year history with the opening of a $51 million distribution center in Indiana, as the fourth-generation family-owned distributor builds out its Midwest presence.

The Grand Rapids-based Van Eerden, which distributes fresh and frozen foods, will officially open its new Fort Wayne distribution center on Oct. 29.

“We have been around for 105 years, and this is our first step into a new state,” said Charles Van Eerden, president and fourth-generation leader of Van Eerden Foodservice. “We’re excited for it to open some doors for us into new markets, but also allow us to grow in existing markets and continue to provide a great customer experience across our network.”…
