FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — A man has pleaded guilty to murder and attempted murder in connection with a June 2024 shooting.
30-year-old Tyshawn Morris pleaded guilty to his role in a June 2024 shooting that injured one and killed another. By taking this deal, Morris will have his additional charges of two counts of Criminal Recklessness and a firearm enhancement dismissed.
If the judge accepts his plea deal, he will serve 45 years for the murder charge and 20 years for the attempted murder charge. Although these sentences will be served concurrently to each other, meaning he will only spend a total of 45 years in prison.
In 2024, Morris attended a house party where he entered a verbal altercation with another man. According to court documents, he left the home to cool off and began venting to another attendee while waiting for his ride.
