Voters reject NACS referendum, unofficial results show

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Most voters in Indiana don’t have any reason to go to the polls on Tuesday because there are not state, federal or municipal elections. However that’s not the case for people living in the Northwest Allen County Schools district (NACS).

Voters will decide the fate of a referendum that would generate money through a property tax increase. NACS says the funding is necessary to help overcome a loss of revenue from the state as a result of the passage of SB1 by the Indiana legislature.

The final unofficial results provided by the Allen County Election Board are listed below:

  • Yes, 46.01%, 3368 votes
  • No, 53.99%, 3952 votes
