Electrical fire, power outage leads to transfer of all DeKalb County Jail inmates

DEKALB COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) — The DeKalb County Jail is empty after an electrical fire Wednesday resulted in a loss of power in the jail and the temporary transfer of all inmates.

According to a Facebook post from the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, the phone lines are down, and power will be out for an “undetermined amount of time.”

The inmates were “safely transported” to other unnamed facilities…
