Fort Wayne Police Department details the dangers of illegal street racing

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — Fort Wayne Police say street racing groups are getting harder to catch and more dangerous as coordinated meetups continue popping up across the county.

Lt. Tony Maze with FWPD’s Traffic Division told WANE 15 that not every car gathering is illegal.

Many clubs meet on private lots with permission, but officers say they watch for clear red flags, such as burnouts, donuts, people riding on hoods, or crowds spilling into lanes…
