Fort Wayne man sentenced for fatally shooting unintended target

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – A man who admitted to shooting and killing someone over an argument at a party in northeast Fort Wayne learned his sentence Monday.

A judge in Allen Superior Court handed 30-year-old Tyshawn Morris 45 years in prison.

Witnesses and Morris’ own account linked him to the shooting at a June 2024 party in the 6000 block of Melan Cove. Officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department found two victims at the scene with gunshot wounds. The first victim was said to be in fair condition, but another was pronounced dead at a hospital…
