DEKALB COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) A crash caused a power outage in DeKalb County Monday evening and police believe the driver involved may have been drinking.
According to a news release from the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, the driver, 34-year-old Kenneth Allen Frey of Kendallville, said he was going east in the 800 block of County Road 34 when he swerved to miss a deer in the road. His SUV went into a ditch and hit a utility pole, taking out power in the area.
Frey suffered multiple injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment. No one else was in the SUV.
Police believe alcohol may have been a factor in the crash and their investigation is ongoing…
