FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – As a colder trend sets in, travel conditions could become dicey at times over the next week. A First Alert Weather Day has been issued for Saturday due to the potential for regional travel impacts due to snow.
Have an umbrella ready early this morning, we’ll deal with scattered rain until the afternoon. Cloudy skies stick around with highs in the mid 50s for Tuesday. The cold air quickly rushes in by Wednesday, along with strong winds. Wind gusts will reach up to 45 mph at times tomorrow, coming out of the west. Give semis space on north and south oriented roads as they deal with the strong crosswinds. If you are traveling tomorrow, monitor any flight delays that may be issued due to strong wind.
Thanksgiving Forecast: One of the better travel days of this week will be on Thanksgiving itself. Expect breezy conditions, but winds will not be quite as strong as Wednesday’s. Temperatures will barely reach above freezing with highs only in the low 30s. Wind chills will be down in the teens and low 20s all day long.
