How FW teen hopes to inspire, one treat at a time

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Move over, Crumbl! A Fort Wayne teen’s dessert business is rising in popularity, thanks to her go-getter mentality.

“I love baking I love meeting new people,” 16-year-old Gabi Thornton said. “…I love putting my best foot forward.”

Treats by Gabz was created six months ago, but Gabi has been baking up sweet treats since her grandma taught her years ago. So far, she has sold over 250 mini cheesecakes, cakes and cookies to her peers, family, teachers and community members. Last week, she broke her own selling record at a showcase at Caroll High School, cashing out 80 desserts in nearly 80 minutes…
