Allen Co. Sheriff patrol vehicle struck by plow that fled, department seeks public’s help

ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE)- The Allen County Sheriff’s Department turned to the public for help Sunday afternoon, asking for information on a suspect vehicle that they said struck a vehicle one of their officers was driving during Saturday night’s snowstorm.

According to the department, around 9:20 p.m. Saturday, an oncoming pickup truck with a plow attached to the front turned into a patrol vehicle at the intersection of Wallen Rd. and Lima Rd. The department said the truck caused a significant crash. The driver drove off immediately.

The department said the suspect vehicle is a dark-colored Ford F-250 or 350 that had a red plow on the front and a salt spreader in the back.

The department asked that anyone who recognizes a driver, or a vehicle matching the description, or anyone that has any other information, to call the Sheriff’s Department at 260-449-3000. Tips can remain anonymous…
