Lutheran Air celebrates 15,000 safe flights

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — Lutheran Air is more than a taxi ride to the hospital, the nurses aboard can perform life saving measures.

“We don’t communicate typically with a doctor, those are trainings we have ahead of time,” said Abby Harvey, an airborne nurse with the program. “Be able to make quick decisions in giving that care to the patient.”

Lutheran Air has even carried blood aboard since the early 2000’s to perform transfusions hundreds of feet off the ground, and is always looking to innovate…
