FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) — The City of Fort Wayne Solid Waste Department and GFL, its garbage and recycling contractor, have issued an advisory about garbage and recycling collection during winter weather.
Snow-covered and icy streets make it difficult for GFL trucks to maneuver. When trucks cannot access a street or alley, GFL requests the City of Fort Wayne Street Department to clear or salt the area for next-day collection. Residents are urged to be patient as services are coordinated.
