FORT WAYNE — Construction is advancing on an 8,400-seat soccer stadium along SR 69 and Bass Road as Fort Wayne prepares for the debut of its new professional team in the top tier of the United Soccer League. The venue, billed as the largest soccer-specific stadium in Indiana, is rising on the city’s west side near Bass Road.
The project was announced in late 2024, and work began in April.
Fort Wayne Football Club majority owner Mark Music is privately funding the development, which is expected to host more than soccer. Plans call for summer concerts, additional sporting events and community activities aimed at creating year-round use. Music, who leads Ruoff Mortgage, became involved in the club several years after joining an early ownership group. His role expanded as the organization grew and as the need for investment increased. He has since emphasized a long-term vision focused on sports entertainment rather than a single team.
A youth academy is also planned as part of an effort to make Fort Wayne a regional hub for player development.
