FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – As temperatures drop, Fort Wayne City Utilities is sharing tips to avoid frozen pipes.
The agency says the following tips will help avoid frozen pipes:
- Keep garage doors closed;
- Run a small trickle of lukewarm water;
- Open cabinet doors; and
- Make sure everyone in your home knows the location of the main water shut-off valve.
“Taking precautions now can help prevent frozen pipes, costly repairs, and service disruptions during extreme cold,” City Utilities says.
