FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – A Fort Wayne man was sentenced Tuesday for neglecting his infant, who was hospitalized due to severe injuries earlier this year.
A judge in Allen Superior Court handed Terry Murray a 12-year sentence but with nine of those years suspended. He was also ordered to six years of probation.
In February, the 2-month-old child had to be taken to a children’s hospital in Cincinnati to be treated for a traumatic brain injury among other injuries. The infant was eventually transferred to a hospital in Indianapolis.
Investigators determined Murray, the child’s 20-year-old father, to be responsible for the injuries. Murray pleaded guilty to neglect causing serious injury. As part of the plea deal, a count of domestic battery was dismissed…
