FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – Did you feel the difference today? Temperatures across the area this afternoon were 10-15º+ warmer than Monday afternoon!
These milder temperatures will continue overnight into early Wednesday morning thanks to the incoming warm front. This, combined with strong wind gusts in excess of 40 mph and periods of rain and occasional wet snow, will result in some pretty rapid snowmelt area wide. Depending on your snowpack, most or all of the snow could be gone before the cold air comes rushing back in midmorning Wednesday. As temperatures fall, lake effect snow showers will as well with minor accumulations (primarily an inch or less).
Thursday will be colder (upper 20s) with partly sunny skies, but a clipper system will move in after sunset Thursday and, depending on its exact track, could spread an inch or two of powdery snow across the region into Friday morning…
