FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) The Lutheran Social Services of Indiana’s (LSSI) Children’s Village Early Learning Center has been serving families from its facility on South Anthony on Fort Wayne’s southeast side since 2006. As of January 16, the facility will close.
LSSI announced the closure in a news release Wednesday morning. The closure decision comes following the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration’s suspension of vouchers for infants and newly qualified families. According to LSSI, the change significantly reduced access for those who would use the facility.
Over nearly two decades, LSSI says it has served more than 1,500 families through curriculum-based learning and a unique intergenerational model. This model includes chapel time, small-motor activities, sing-alongs, and shared exercise sessions in partnership with Lutheran Life Villages…
