Man to serve 55 years after pleading guilty to murder

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – A man is now facing 55 years in prison after pleading guilty to felony murder.

Chavez Gustin, 22, pleaded guilty to a count of felony murder in connection with the July killing of 67-year-old Roger Marvin Swedzinski. Gustin is expected to be sentenced to 55 years at his sentencing on January 5.

Prosecutors will drop charges of murder and burglary initially levied against Gustin. They also agreed to drop a firearm enhancement that could have added up to 20 years to his sentence…
