Caucus set to fill Jefferson Township Advisory Board vacancy

WELLS COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) – Wells County Republicans scheduled a caucus for January to fill a seat on the Jefferson Township Advisory Board that was left vacant amid discussions over a fire protection contract.

Tim Baker announced his resignation in a letter dated Friday, citing multiple issues with the fire protection contract between the township and the Town of Ossian.

The two remaining members of the Republican-led advisory board are David Haiflich and Jeffrey Whicker. Before the third member is chosen, a Christmas Eve special session is planned to discuss the contract, which involves finding fire protection for the parts of Jefferson Township that sit outside Ossian town limits…
