FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – Today will be the warmest day of the next several days, with temperatures climbing to around 50 degrees under mostly cloudy skies. Rain showers return tomorrow for Christmas Eve as temperatures drop into the lower 40s.
As for Christmas Day, despite initial expectation of a warmer Christmas, we will see high temperatures settle in the 40s. Why? The warm front we expected to push into the area will stay south. This means a pretty sharp temperature difference between Fort Wayne and Central/Southern Indiana.
As temperatures drop to the mid 30s Friday morning, there’s potential for a brief round of freezing rain north of Fort Wayne. While it may be short-lived, it could create a few slick spots on roads and walkways. Conditions should improve quickly as temperatures rebound into the 50s by afternoon…
