Urgent meeting in Ossian Christmas Eve to address Jefferson Township fire service uncertainty

OSSIAN, Ind. (WFFT) — Jefferson Township officials are holding a special public session on Wednesday, October 22, at 6 p.m. in Ossian to address a potential lapse in fire protection services starting January 1 if a new agreement is not approved.

The meeting, organized by the Jefferson Township Advisory Board and Trustee A.J. Springer, will take place at the township office on 1645 Hillcrest Drive, Suite A. It is open to residents and the public.

The township’s current fire protection agreement with the Town of Ossian expires on December 31. Without a new contract approved by the advisory board, the township could be left without designated fire coverage…
