DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office announces addition of SWAT team

DEKALB COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) — The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office announced that it has launched a Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team.

The launch was officially announced in a Facebook post on Wednesday. The initiative to form the team began a year ago, and eight deputies were chosen and began a structured training program.

These deputies completed over 130 hours of specialized training that focused on high-risk operations, tactical decision-making, armored vehicle operations, rescue techniques, team leadership development, and the use of less-lethal weapons…
