COLUMBIA CITY, Ind. (WANE) – The march for a state championship in girls wrestling kicked off on Friday with sectional meets across the Hoosier state.
At Columbia City, the hosting Eagles and Huntington North shined in the team standings by finishing third and second, respectively. Columbia City finished with 146 points, with Alyssa Driver winning the 110-pound weight class and Brooke Steinbacher winning the 235-pound weight class.
Huntington North finished just ahead of Columbia City with 154 team points. Claire Beeks won a sectional title in the 140-pound division, while Aubrey Troutner took home a sectional title in the 145-pound weight class to lead the Vikings.
