HUNTINGTON, Ind. (WPTA) – A Huntington couple was found dead Tuesday night in what appears to be a murder-suicide, Huntington County Coroner Phil Zahm announced Wednesday afternoon.
A wellness check was called in for the couple when relatives hadn’t seen them for “some time,” but their car was parked at their Maple Grove Road home, which was not their primary residence. When Huntington County Sheriff’s deputies entered the home, they found 51-year-old Melanie R. Meyers and 54-year-old Kenneth L. Meyers inside, both dead from apparent gunshot wounds.
An autopsy found that Melanie Meyers died from a single gunshot wound, and her death was ruled a homicide. Kenneth Meyers died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, and his death was ruled a suicide…
