On a frigid January day, laughter and the sound of skateboards rolling on smooth concrete fill the spacious air of a remodeled warehouse that now houses Slam City Skate Park east of downtown Fort Wayne.
The skate park is the brainchild of childhood friends Rich Hoppe and Dan Butler who co-own the indoor facility located at 1412 South Anthony Boulevard.
Just about anything on wheels without a motor is welcome here.
“It’s a place for kids, adults, and anybody who wants to ride a skateboard, scooter or BMX bike in the winter,” says Butler. “This is the place to go.”…
