FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – Construction crews are racing against time and weather to complete Fort Wayne FC Park, the new home stadium for the city’s professional soccer team, with fewer than 100 days remaining until the home opener.
The new stadium along Bass Road will be the largest outdoor stadium in northeast Indiana when complete. Drone pictures shows the massive scale of the project, which has been under construction since summer.
Team prepares for professional debut
Fort Wayne FC, now a professional team, is currently practicing at the Plex South while awaiting their new facility. The club’s home opener is scheduled for May 2.
“Growing up here I’ve never seen anything like it. I’m definitely excited. Every time I drive by it it’s looking better than it was the week before,” said Reid Sproat, a Leo High School graduate who will play professionally in front of Fort Wayne fans.
