FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Allen County’s first homicide of the year stemmed from a robbery gone wrong this past weekend, and charges were filed Thursday against two suspects.
Johnny Ray Rowe, 44, faces charges of felony murder and attempted robbery for his alleged role in the crime at a Fort Wayne home that led to the killing of 31-year-old Khiry Van Wilkens.
Donte Fitzpatrick, 38, faces the same charges — and he’s the one accused of pulling the trigger.
Last Saturday, Wilkens – from Indianapolis – drove up to Fort Wayne after a friend invited him to a home to watch basketball and gamble, a witness told investigators in Allen Superior Court documents.
