FORT WAYNE — A coalition of northeast Indiana health providers has launched a public service announcement aimed at addressing growing confusion and misinformation surrounding childhood vaccines.
The 60-second video, released this month, encourages parents to seek evidence-based guidance from local medical professionals as questions persist about which vaccines children need and when they should receive them. The announcement was developed collaboratively by the Allen County Department of Health, Fort Wayne Pediatrics, IU Health Medical Group, Lutheran Health Physicians, Parkview Health, Pediatric Associates Inc. and Super Shot Inc.
Organizers said the effort was prompted by widespread uncertainty fueled by online misinformation and recent changes at the federal level to recommended childhood vaccine schedules. Those changes include the rollback of several standard vaccines, as well as revised guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
