COLUMBIA CITY – A Columbia City man has been arrested for allegedly battering a woman.
Matthew Raye Mosier, 46, 121 E. 500N, Columbia City, is charged with domestic battery resulting in serious bodily injury, a level 5 felony; and two counts of domestic battery and interfering with the reporting of a crime, all class A misdemeanors.
On Jan. 22, officers were called by dispatch to a home in Columbia City for a possible argument. Upon arrival, officers spoke with Mosier, who said he and the victim had an argument. Officers asked if they could come inside, but Mosier stated that he would have the victim come out of the house. The victim and another individual came out of the residence.
According to court documents, the victim stepped out of the house and winced in pain while clutching her midsection. Officers noted that the victim said she was okay and would not admit to Mosier hitting her. Officers also saw a red mark around the victim’s neck that resembled a handprint…
