(Wayne County, IN)–Here’s more on the passage this week of a bill that could ultimately bring a casino to Wayne County. Wayne County is now one of four counties in the running to replace Rising Sun’s casino. The other three counties are all in the Fort Wayne area. The bill endorsed this week would require the company building the new casino to spend at least $500 million on the project within five years of the doors opening to gamblers. The Indiana Gaming Commission would pick a new casino operator by April of next year. The bill also allows counties to hold a voter referendum on local support.
